Reading With Cass

I'm just another girl in love with books and who happens to make videos about books on YouTube.

Stormdancer (The Lotus War Book One)

Stormdancer - Jay Kristoff Probably one of my favorite books of the year. Just saying. :P

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (Perennial Classics)

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie - Muriel Spark No just no.

Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World: A Novel (Vintage International)

Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World - Haruki Murakami, Alfred Birnbaum review to come

Dance in the Vampire Bund, Vol. 1

Dance in the Vampire Bund, Vol. 1 - Nozomu Tamaki review to come

Tiger's Curse (Book 1)

Tiger's Curse (Book 1) - Colleen Houck Overall, I thought this book was very good. It had a lot of romance and adventure which I liked a lot. I do wish that we had more action between the protagonists and the main antagonist but since it is the first book in a series, I guess it was more to set up the story than other thing else. Another thing I didn't really like was the writing. At times it could be really good but there were times when the writing seemed childish. I still really enjoyed the book though :D

Reason To Breathe (The Breathing Series, #1)

Reason to Breathe - Rebecca Donovan Review to come

Starling

Starling - Lesley Livingston *3.5 stars*
wow that ending just made it all worth while. I can't wait to read the next book. reading this made me want to learn more about all the different kinds of gods and goddesses for sure.

Forever Summer

Forever Summer - Alyson Noel Yeah...not the greatest book in the world but more on that later!

Edit:
So as a whole this book wasn't great. In fact I would probably only give each book in this bind up a 1.5 or maybe 2 and that's being generous. The one thing that was the same in both books, that made me dislike the book so much was actually the main character(s). They were so unlikable and believe me, it is hard to like a book when you can't even like the characters.

I also did not like the switching of perspectives in the first book. It was completely unnecessary!

The one redeeming quality was that all the characters grew in the end. Yup that's the only good thing. 2 stars is generous.

The Namesake: A Novel

The Namesake - Jhumpa Lahiri It always takes me a while to finish an adult book, whether it be good or bad. In this case, the book was actually good. Not a lot happens, I have to admit but the writing style is so beautiful, I kept coming back for more. The story line is pretty simple, in fact the whole book is simple but the way it is written will keep you engrossed in the book. This book is basically about finding oneself hence the title, The Namesake. If you are more into adult books then I definitely recommend this to you.

Easy

Easy - Tammara Webber After spending a good amount of my time thinking about what I was going to say about this book, I finally figured it out.

1) It was amazing.
2) The characters were so funny and real at the same time that I couldn't help but fall in love with them.
3) The message and issue that this book brings up is something that any girl should read about.

The issue I mentioned above was rape. This is not a spoiler because it happens within the first couple pages of the book. What happens is the main character Jacqueline is almost raped by a fellow student but is saved by another guy. Now this may seem like a typical "damsel in distress" book and it is in a way but it also shows how Jacqueline grew to realize that it was never her fault and she even learns how to defend herself in the future. I am definitely going to have to learn some of those moves :P

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romance and real life issues :)

The Knife of Never Letting Go: Chaos Walking: Book One

The Knife of Never Letting Go - Patrick Ness Holy shit this book! Some crazy shit went down man. I'm not gunna lie. I loved this book so much! The mystery and the adventure were amazing. The characters were some of the best characters I have ever read about. And the writing style! I'M IN LOVE! <3

Eve

Eve - Anna Carey I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I loved the whole idea of the book but I did deduct a star because the characters were sort of iffy for me. Eve annoyed me at times but I did like Arden. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Eon: Dragoneye Reborn

Eon: Dragoneye Reborn - Alison Goodman Just finished rereading this book and realized that it is one of my favorite books. Rating jumped up to 5 stars for me! If you haven't already read this book, you need too! It is filled with action, suspense, and mystery. Absolutely brilliant!

Destroy Me

Destroy Me - Tahereh Mafi Wow. Who would've thought that I would feel sorry for Warner. However, when reading it I got a creepy serial killer vibe from him. He is completely in love with Juliette, yet he proceeds to torture and cause her pain...umm I don't think that's how you should treat the one you love. Once I finished this novella though, I realized that I did feel sorry for Warner. Conflicted emotions for me right now.

Shatter Me

Shatter Me - Tahereh Mafi OMG! What an amazing start to a series! The writing style was so unique and the story line just kept me reading. I love Adam and Juliette <3. They are so perfect together and James is absolutely adorable, Kenji is hilarious and made me laugh so many times. I was literally shaking when reading this book, shaking from excitement and happiness that is (I know, I'm weird :P). I can't wait to see what happens next!

Spirit and Dust

Spirit and Dust - Rosemary Clement-Moore *4.5*

I loved this book! It was a lot better than I thought it would be. The characters were amazing especially the main character Daisy. She was so sarcastic and funny that I caught myself laughing out loud at times. Carson was also great. I loved the fact that he and Daisy acted so cold to each other but you could totally tell they had feelings for each other ;) Another character that was awesome was Agent Taylor, Daisy's partner. I loved their relationship and how she didn't hide the fact that she had a crush on him haha

The one down-side to this book and the reason why I deducted half a star was because I find myself getting a bit confused at times when Daisy was talking to ghosts and doing other cool stuff. I had to read some sentences multiple times to actually understand it. However the book and all its aspects were explained very well, it just took me some time to understand some parts, but I managed it!

Anyway, this book had tons of action and Harry Potter references as well as Lord of the Rings references, I just couldn't stop reading. I would recommend it to anyway :)
