Reading With Cass

This was my second time reading this book and I still love it. It only took me a day to read so if anyone is looking for a really quick, enjoyable read, then this is the book for you.

There are three other books in this series that I can't wait to read. I'm excited to see what other surprises Lois Lowry has in store for me.

This book is considered a Dystopian novel, which is a post-apocalyptic setting. It follows the story of Jonas, a 12 year old boy who is about to get assigned a job in hos community. Jonas gets "selected" to be the new Receiver of Memories and must train under The Giver.

This job isn't given to just anyone, you have to have the right abilities. Jonas apparently has those abilities and soon begins to receive memories from generations ago. It is a very honorable job although it comes with a price.

It will cause pain.

What will Jonas do with these memories? Will he keep receiving them? Or will he give up?
